Relation with God (Ownness)

As much man accepts his relationship with worldly things, persons etc., so much more he becomes subservient to others. If man were to acknowledge his link only with God, he would be free for all times.

If an aspirant considering himself of God, renders service to the world; he will be serving both the world and God properly. But considering himself belonging to the world, he serves the world in that case he will not be properly serving even the world, what to talk of God.

God is our own, but not for ourselves, as we are for God. The meaning is, that we do not desire anything from God, but we offer ourselves to Him. Taking the worst circumstances, we ought to treat these happily as God's offerings.

For good use only things are ours, and God is one's own to give to oneself. So use things for the world and offer yourself to God.

A husband can die, he could give up his wife; even then on going to a new home, a daughter has no worry. But God neither dies, nor ever gives one up. Therefore on establishing a link with God, why worry? God knows how to hold, but not to give up. (479)

"I belong to God and God is mine"-there is no competence, no worthiness and no rightfulness etc., that equals God's ownness.

A devotee should not look at his own capacity etc., but constantly watch at his ownness of God.

Ownness with God is the easiest and the best means to reach God.

There is nobody mine, except God, this is true devotion.

Though all powerful, God is unable to distance itself from us.

God is mine, and everything given is not mine, but is God's.

Man treats material things and actions as his own, and always becomes subservient to them. When he treats God as his own and completely surrenders to Him, then he always becomes free.

Our relation with God is intrinsic and natural. For this we do not need any power, ability, or assistance etc., from others.

Just as we have accepted the relation with the world, that it is available, and near. Similarly, we acknowledge the link with God. And as we believe the link with God is not available and is far off, the same way we should treat the relation with the world.

Just believe that "I am of God." If you accept that 'I am of the world', then you will forget God not only while doing work of the world even when you are engaged in His worship.

Howsoever you may be, believe now, this moment that, "I am of God."

Instead of meditating on God, it is better to develop one's ownness with God. One's ownness will lead automatically to meditation. Automatic meditation is the best. (491)

God loves one's ownness more, not so much renunciation or penance etc.

The way to turn towards God, is by complete turning away from the world.

A firm one's ownness with God, swallows all faults.

Until there is linkage with God, everything remains worldly. Once one's ownness is established, everything becomes divine.

Should we seek anything from God, then our link is with that thing, and not with God.

One who is our own, he is ever-existent in ourselves. Only it is to be confirmed. Who is not our own, keeps on separating from us always, and it is only necessary to deny it.

Man's relations with God is obvious and direct. In this, there is no need for an agent or intermediary.
