Objective (Goal)
Worldly success or failure constitute no obstacle to a man who has made God- realization as the only objective of his life for which he is blessed with this human body.
Just as the goal of the sick, is to gain good health, so man's objective is to seek salvation. By giving no importance to worldly success or failures and remaining equanimous, man achieves his goal.
When the sole objective of an aspirant is to realise God, then whatever resources, things, conditions etc., he has, all become God-oriented.
A firm determination to realise God as a goal, leads to quick purity of the inner faculty, compared with any other religious effort or ritual.
Even animals satisfy their senses, but such satisfaction is not the goal of man's life. His goal is to seek the Reality devoid of pain or pleasure.
Karmayoga, Jñānayoga, Dhyanayoga, Bhaktiyoga and other means, necessitate a firm determination and goal. Without a resolve for the goal, how could the means ensure salvation?
When the sole objective is to realise God, no means are small or great.
In reality, beyond God-realisation, man's objective is nothing else; the necessity is to recognise this objective and then to fulfil the same.
The objective of attaining Divinity is the glory of man but for such objective man does not deserve to be called a human being.
