Master and Disciple

One who becomes the Guru of the world, in fact turns into a slave of the world. One who becomes a master of his self, he becomes the master of the world.

If somebody wants anything from us, how could he be our Guru?

To make a son or disciple greater than oneself, is a rule or a recognised possibility, but it is not permissible to make them your slaves.

To consider a Guru to be a mere man, and a mere human body as Guru, is a great sin. Guru is a Tattva, not so named as a mere body.

A disciple is scarce while a Guru is not. A server is rare, but not those to be served. An inquisitive person is hard to get, but not knowledge. A devotee is rare, but not God.

One who seeks, money and riches, pleasure and comfort, respect and honour, worship and homage or anything from us, he could not lead us to God- realization.

The world, the being and God-not to know these three is darkness. One who removes this darkness, is a Guru.

The Guru is for a disciple, while the latter is not for a Guru. A ruler is for the ruled, while the subjects are not for a Rājā.

God, even though a universal Guru, does never make man his disciple, but only as a comrade and friend.

A master does not grant his disciple any new knowledge, but awakens his inherent knowledge.

A true Guru makes one a Guru, not a disciple, one who wants to make a disciple, he becomes a servant of the disciple.

Our real Guru is within our own selves. It is discrimination, which is granted by God; who has also vouchsafed us a human body, and all spiritual means and materials. So what is the necessity of a human Guru?
